Why is it v painful when someone starts ignoring u?

we met online.we got v close.then we met 2 times.2nd time he was insisting me to take a room in hotel.but i said lets postpone it for next date.he was totally into me.then suddenly he started showing hes buzy.too buzy to contact me.no sms,doesn't comes online,or call.when asked he says i m same.is it a time for me to quilt to save my heart b4 it gets more hurt,or shell i wait and watch?
