EYELINER PENCIL question?

i know when the eyeliner tip is all hard, u can burn it a lil n it will make it soft, but can you make a soft tip hard again? i have this one by "Ulta" that used to work really good, but now its so soft i cant use it or even sharpen it... it just bends off. please help! i hate buyinh new ones that never work right! thanks!
