Texas Unemployment?

I was denied unemployment due to improper use of equipment (long story). A friend of mine said I could go work some where else for 3 days then get “laid off” (ie short term labor or contract labor) and then file unemployment again and this time it would go threw and would be paid by my old employer. Any one knows if there is any truth to this? I am looking for a job but I am a single mom and this came out of the blue and I had no idea or warning I was going to be terminated. Now we are in trouble. Thanks for any help.
