The guy or me? Whose fault is it? If so yes, explain me why?

I fought with a guy once in school ok. That was the end, we never looked nor talked to each other because I did not like what he told me. Once he was going for a walk with a girl from my cl and at the same time I was walking with one of my friend. We found that girl annoying because she kept saying "hi" wherever she saw me. So my friend who was walking with me told me a joke and we laughed. Is it wrong to laugh at a joke? and then the next time we saw them sitting in a corridor, then that guy kept starring at my shoes and that was really weird because it was like i looked funny or something. Then I just said something to my friend beside me like "people love looking at our shoes" then that guy told me "none of your business" eventhough he did not understand what I said nor to whom I said, then the girl with him told me the same thing what he said. Just tell me who was being rude. If you really say it was me without understanding my feelings, then explain me why? why would it be?
