If oil continues to be consumed at it's current rate, what can we do?

I recently found a statistic that said if oil continues to be consumed at it's current rate, that there are 15,656 days until the "end of oil." If nothing/no one stops this, what will happen or what can we do after oil runs out? Also, what is being done to conserve oil right now? Thanks.
