I work in food service and ive heard rumors that the manager dont like it if we wear gloves, i used to work?
here for 9 yrs and thats never been an issue, i went to work elsewhere for 3 yrs in another place, also food service, theyre talking about in the dining rm cleaning tables. i never used to bother with gloves cleaning tables myself until i was at my other job and got bronchitis and the doctor told me to start using gloves so i did cause i didnt want bronchitis again. i also take echinacia to avoid getting everyone's colds. when i say she dont like it if we were gloves, i meant out in the dining rm, guess the guests might think we dont change them but thats not true, i change mine. anyways, can they really make us go without them? to me after spending a month with bronchitis, that is not negotiable. i mean when people eat they spit on the table, the food from their mouth goes on the table etc., i prefer not to touch that. im going to try to go to work and not make an issue out of it, but what if they make an issue, do i have to go look for another job so i can protect myself from getting sick? any suggestions? what are the rules on that? arent we supposed to be allowed to wear them?
